Privacy Policy

Restock Hero (“we,” “us,” or “the app”) helps you scan household products, compare unit prices across retailers, and buy at the best price. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with. We keep this short and plain because privacy should be easy to understand.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and a password. Authentication is handled by Supabase, and your password is hashed by Supabase. We never see or store your plain password.
• Your pantry and scan activity. Products you scan or search for, items you save to your pantry, and your scan history. This lets the app track prices for the things you actually buy.
• Price and product data. We collect product details and prices from retailers and product databases. This is information about products, not about you.
• Error and technical data. If error monitoring is enabled (Sentry), we may collect diagnostic details such as the error, browser type, and IP address, so we can fix crashes. We do not use this to build advertising profiles.

We do not collect precise location, and we do not run third-party advertising or analytics trackers.

How we use your information

• To provide the service: sign you in, save your pantry, and show price comparisons.
• To keep the app working and to diagnose and fix problems.
• To communicate with you about your account or the service if you contact us.

Service providers we share data with

We share only what is needed for these providers to do their job. We do not sell your personal data.

• Supabase hosts our database and handles authentication (your account and pantry data).
• Vercel hosts and serves the website.
• Sentry provides error monitoring, when enabled.
• Amazon Associates and Sovrn Commercepower our affiliate links. When you tap a “Buy” link, you leave our site and the retailer and affiliate network handle the visit under their own policies.
• UPCitemdb, Open Food Facts, and Serper provide product identification and price lookups. We send them product identifiers and search terms, not your personal data.

Affiliate links

Restock Hero earns commissions when you buy through the affiliate links in the app. This never increases the price you pay. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Links to other retailers may be routed through Sovrn Commerce.

Advertising and data sales

We do not show ads, and we do not sell your personal data to anyone. Our revenue comes from affiliate commissions, so the app can stay free for you.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in (your authentication session). We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Data retention and your choices

We keep your account and pantry data for as long as your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and its data at any time by emailing us. If you have questions about the data we hold, reach out and we will help.

Children

Restock Hero is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page.
